Many people don¡¯t even think about the air they breathe. It is an involuntary action. We breathe all day long, and unless there is an odor in the air, we rarely think anything of it. That is, unless you have a respiratory disorder.

Allergies and asthma make it difficult for our systems to cope with all the minute particles that are drifting through the air. When we breathe them in, those of use with sensitivities can have a hard time breathing correctly, and sneezing, sniffing and coughing can result.

The best solution to getting rid of the symptoms associated with allergies and asthma is to breathe cleaner air. The best way to get clean air is to use an air purifier. The best way to choose an air purifier is to research the different types and make an educated decision.

There are a number of different methods air purifiers use to clear the air of most of the particles that cause asthmatic and allergic reactions. Some use ultraviolet light to sterilize the air, others make use of carbon or HEPA filters. Still others use ionization to collect the unwanted particles.

The last of these, the ionizer, sends out positively charged gas ions which attach to airborne particles. A negatively charged plate then attracts the ions, and the particles they carry.

One advantage to the air purifier ionizer is that maintenance is quite easy. Cleaning the plate is simply a matter of wiping it off; nothing could be easier. There is no need to purchase filter refills.

The air purifier and ionizer come in two different types. Some use a fan to force the air to move and become cleaned more quickly. Others rely on natural air circulation for this to happen, but are much more quiet without the fan.

If you are unsure if an ionizer is the type of air purifier you want, do some research about the various options and the pros and cons of each. It is also a very good idea to read reviews of different types of purifiers and find out if people are happy with ionizer models.

Also, if you do decide on this type of purifier, look at different models and find the right size and style for you. If you do a lot of traveling, you may want to opt for a compact model that you can take with you when staying away from home. Otherwise, a regular version on wheels will give you the ability to move the unit from the living area into your bedroom at night.

An air purifier and ionizer can make a huge difference in the quality of the air you breathe, creating a healthier environment, especially for those with allergies or asthma.
